as above just finshed an c20xe in the corsa turned it over started then stoped and thats all its doing, i have checked the sw/live and perm live and seems ok?? should the fuel pump prim on the key because on the x20xev it did? the icv and knock plugs are on right so any other ideas would be great before i start to rip the loom apart.

check your earths on gearbox and fuel rail

mine did the same.

pretty sure the xe and let fuelpump prime on cranking

no earths on the gearbox? and only two earths on the fuel rail dizzy side of engine, iam sure their should be one near the alt side?

yes your right, if you remove the black cover that goes over the injectors you will then see the wire has probably snapped.
u also need an earth from alt bracket to fuel rail, and gearbox to chassis

Put the + side of fuel pump to the battery +

Then turn over etc, should fire streight up, just to check you have the pump on the correct wire.

just done a paper clip test 31 rpm crank and 93 the hall effect sensor? yes crank because its not running but the hes thats on top of the dist/cap what can i do?

^^^ either change the dissy or check for a broken wire in the loom as XE's can run fine with the HES unplugged anyway iirc.

i have checked the 3 pin plug back to the pins on the ecu and there all fine.other thing was i did not find the earth for the other side of the fuel rail. what sort of earth is it does it come from a sensor or is it just to the chassis

o.p what fuel pump you running, also check your fuel pump relay and fuel pressure reg vac line.:thumb:

fuel pressure reg vac line? is that the black pipe that comes from the drivers side wing? fuel pump is from an astra 1.4 mpi it was ok running the x20xev before this one went in.the only place i can think it goes is on the T peace from the brake vac?

bigger fuel pump. 2.0 astra one is best.

and no, the one from the fuel pressure reg to the throttle body.

ive got a 2l 16v cav sitting around might put that one in.i have a fse valve on so it does go back to the throttle body
