going to cut mine out had a search the other night and couldnt find anything in detail of how to and how not to sort of thing
and how do people fit the ax/zx wiper motor's.?
just getting info in so i can get the nova done as quick as possible and the best way possible :thumb:

i cut mine just above seam thenfolded the seam down and welded across that
unless you need to remove it, don't. if you do, then use an angle grinder & follow drapers method.
why do you need to remove it? is it so you can see the oil actually leaking out & blowing thru the vent grille & onto the screen???
i did this, look at my WIP thread, left about 1/2" above the seam, folded it over and welded it then a smear of seam sealer. makes access to rear of engine with big block in easier mowgli, and i fitted corsa brake servo made life much easier for access etc. just need to sort a wiper motor

I cut the spot welds out on mine.
Bent over the remaining lip, welded along, mother over with grinder & smoothed.
Only reason i did this was to allow more room for throttle bodies & as i never use car in winter i never used the heater so all this went too.
As for wiper i used a Fiat Uno!!!

we do it on most the nova's we do, our v6 on nitrous is done like this and it runs very cool and there's plenty room behind the engine to work
