Just wondering where you stand, if you own a small piece of land, pull a static caravan on it and live in it ??? is this legal or do you need planing permision for it ???

illegal iirc. Depends what the land is used for. if the land has plans for a dwelling it's a little easier iirc.

yup you need permision to use for residential occupancy without it they can just tell you to move it and give you a nice fine

Land needs residential planning OR like in our case, we have temporary planning for the statics as its a development site (we're restoring a barn basically)

As above but don't forget to add at least one burnt out mattress and bin bags of human and animal waste as well as the obligatory empty gas bottles and Flair and Dropside Transits. The authorities won't dare move you then. lol

what is it exactly your looking into doing? is it like your parents land and you'd rather have somewhere a little more of your own or did you just happen to fall across some land?

Either way you'd need permission basically saying its habitable etc
