should i re-instate my amal valve?

i currently run a manual boost controller and have cut the amal valve out, but left it plugged in to keep the ecu happy. i was talking to some guy and he said i should put it back on properly and get rid of the m.b.c and it will make a good difference. he said it will make my evo5 chips work more effectively. what do you reckon? thanks

I'm running EDS phase 2, and i've kept the Amal valve plumbed in.

What you'll notice with the Amal valve is you'll get Overboost, so when you nail it in the higher gears it should overboost to around 18-19psi and the settle at 13-14psi.

I prefer overboost, it gives the car the initial kick needed and I'd say you would notice the differance too.

What boost pressure are you holding at the moment on the MBC?

no its just a simple 90 degree brass bend with the adjuster on the top. im currently just sticking to 12psi as i dont want it hammering after rebuilding it not so long ago and its only been on the road 2 weeks now. can any of you tell me how the amal valve is piped up because i cant remember in what order the vacuum pipes go onto it. thanks

think its left to lower vacuum take off on turbo
right to upper vacuum take off on turbo
but some one will confirm it
just im not with my nova atm and cant check it
