Is it as cunning as a fox what used to be Professor of Cunning at Oxford University but has moved on and is now working for the U.N. at the High Commission of International Cunning Planning?

on topic: any big block clusters should fit I'd imagine? as f10/f13 etc ones are swappable afaik? tbh I just wanted to post the blackadder quote though, so someone will need to back me up lol

F16 and F20 clusters arent a direct swap due to a bearing :( we found that out when doing mr tunnnnnnicliffes quaife

So I have read, theyre a tw4t to change due to bearing, and shaft sizes somewhere lol

Can't you put an f16cr on?

Or the FD from an f16CR into the F20box?

Or, get a custom diff ring and pinion from quaiffe, £250IIRC

Scott the FD's will vary depending where the box originated from. Astra or Calibra etc...

Astra gte 16v = f20 3.55 fd
Astra gte 8v = f16 3.72 fd
astra Gsi 16v = f20 3.42 fd
calibra 16v rt = f20 3.55 fd
cav gsi 16v = f20 3.42 fd
cav gsi 4x4 na = f20 3.72 fd
cav/cali turbo 4x4 = f28 3.72 fd
hope this helps

An F20 cluster will not fit an F16 as a straight swap or vice versa

As Craig said, there are 3 different types of F20. The internals of those are inter-changeable, but iirc you have to swop the diff/diff gear too..

As above, three types of F20. All three have the same 1 - 4 gear ratio's just the fifth/final drive that's different.

Most useful thing so far.. So at present i have a F20 with 3.55fd in it, so can i straight swap to a GSi cav with 3.72 fd? and use my quaife??

Or if there is any after market stuff out there who does anything close to 4.1-4.4 fd?
