3 men all had ?10 each. They went to a second hand TV shop and bought a TV for ?30, each handing over their ?10. As they left the shop with No money and the TV the shop manager came down to congradulate the sales assistant. He said did you sell it? The sales assistant said "yeah i got ?30 for it". The manager said "It was only suposed to be ?25 go and give them their change". The sales assistant ran down the street with 5 pound coins in his pocket thinking how will they divide ?5 by 3 people. I will just give them a pound each and keep the other 2 for myself.

He caught the men and gave them a pound each.

This means each man had only spent ?9 that day.

The three men each spent ?9 so the TV cost them ?27 and the shop assisatnt pocketed ?2 making the total ?29.

Where is the missing pound??

But each man walked home with a ?1 change out of ?10

?10 - ?1 = ?9

it fell out the hole in the salesman's pocket when he was running down the road after the 3 men, it was then picked up by a man with a child who went into the local newsagents to buy a paper an decided to gamble the ?1 on a lottery ticket as he thought 'hell it's not my money', he went home with the ticket in his pocket then come saturday he sat down with his family to watch the lottery and watched as the numbers he had picked dropped from the machine arthur an the set of balls 2!

when you get to the total, you dont add the ?2 that the shop assistant pocketed, you take it away from the ?27 to make ?25 which is what the TV cost.

10 + 10 + 10 = 30

-5 = 25

gives 3 back, makes ?2 in shop assistants pocket,

add the 25 + 3 + 2 gets 30

:)

I dont know how much sense that makes to anyone, but I know what I am trying to say!!!! :lol:

jkhilton i thought that as well it does add up. But it is only when you think about the fact the only seemed to spend ?9 each

9x3 = 27 + 2 the shop keeper kept = 29

Cos they did only spend ?9 each if they went out with a tenner and came home with ?1 each?

Funny though init!
