does anyone know if a f28 will go straight into my cav td
obviously it will need 2wd conversion and corect mounts but will it be ok to use my original clutch flywheel etc info on this is much apreciated
and also will this decrees my rpm at higher speeds i.e. when i am doing 80ish mph my f 18 is at 3000 rpm will the revs be lower than that as i do loads of motorway miles i just fancied doing the swap to decrees rpm not for speed
manny thanks in advance brett :thumb:
I always thought with mine that it needed an extra cog, according to Baxter the izuzu dervs are big block so in theory yes it should fit and im sure ive heard somewhere that someone had done it but i dont know if it were just an interweb legend or not lol

baxter had one on the nova diesel
legend solved spud
was the red van he had with 1.7 td lump
Well need a lot of bish/bashing to get a fly/clutch to fit it.
And the ratios are completely wrong for a diesel

i shall get the GM number off the flywheel i used,
an izuzu engine is both a small block and an big block
your better off fitting the box that comes with the TD,
but i did notice something when me and spud where playing with out cavs down the lanes
5th gear 2500rpm mine was doing 75mph, spud was doing the same in 4

mine had been to the moon and back
i did reckon spuds had a petrol box in it...
mine had been to the moon and back
I think the technical term is 'more miles than the starship Enterprise' lol
I think my old one has only just clicked up 130K a month or two back so is still a spring chicken:thumb:
