he's a plumber by trade, he's completely rebuilt the engine, with brand new parts, and he spent ages looking for a mint car to use. needless to say it looks brilliant.

The only reason why he is telling his mates that it is a factory styled conversion is because he's a tight ass who can't be arsed buying bigger/wider wheels and brakes and suspension to help with the extra power.

Yes, from the pics the conversion looks tidy. I like the red hoses but there isnt much else we can see, well apart from a bog standard sxi with faded trims.

I didnt say it was the usual chavvy corsa and mint or not, it looks like a bog standard car. Sorry if that offended you, but isnt that what it's meant to look like?

iirc coilovers but only 20mm, 256mm brakes with ferodo ds3466f pads (fast road/track compound) and a decent exhaust thats not loud.

I've just read the progress thread on allcorsa. Engine work looks clean enough and i bet those hoses wernt cheap, there's loads of them!

I still go with my previous comment though about wanting it modded (ie, he said he want cage and carbon fibre panels), but seen as its cheaper to keep it standard, that's exactly why he is doing it :)

Why is it that if Rob starts a thread, everyone starts jumping down his throat?

The first time I changed brake Calipars I started a thread, it was a mile stone, I had done it for the first time. This is his first time lending a hand doing an XE, he started a thread. Ok, its not to everyones taste, so what? It looks like most other XE Corsas, yes, its a Corsa with an XE in it. It is however clean and tidy unlike most XEs thrown into Corsas.

Opinions are like Arseholes, everyone has one, but no one wants to see a nasty looking one.

dod, there isnt an immobilizer, as the engine is pre immobilizer. its only the std ecu and engine on the 1.2 that has it. the wiring was ok once i'd worked out which red/blue was the fuel pump, as there is 3 of em! you also need to bypass the old fuel pump relay behind the glovebox. im gonna post a how to on the gearlinkage in a bit. thanks for the kind words mate.

ive converted novas and corsas, and tbh corsas convert far easier, and there is more room in the bay.

I really dont agree with this, Whoever it was that neg rep'd me then fine do as you will. Im not jumping down his throat at all! Its a nice looking conversion as I said! I know most a just thrown together and I can see the work thats been put into it! Iv had a read through the WIP and all looks sound. I dont like corsas and I dont think that its that amazing. Im allowed my opinion as well as everyone else. At the end of the day there are lots of conversions that people do which are tidy but it dont make them AMAZING? wish him the best with the build!
