Here's my 92 SR, I have had it for about 2 months which is quite good going for me! Still really like it and I am yet to get bored of it lol

I have an OMP cage to fit, I am buying a set of Cobra bucket seats from my friend, I also have Bilstein coilovers and Powerflex bushes. I have a few other bits and pieces but I won't be using them yet as I want to get used to the car on track before adding too much.

The car isn't the cleanest bodywork wise, I will be replacing the rear arches when I take the car off the road in the winter along with the sills. I will be rebuilding the 1400 at the same time, maybe adding a cam but will see nearer the time.

I am aiming to take part in a few track days at Knockhill and at a local track as I have never been on a track in my life!

Sellers photos of the car:-

Lowered the rear a bit

Decided I didn't like the black wheels so I fitted the one's it came with, I personally think it looks a lot better plus they are quite a bit lighter than the black alloys.

Next step is to strip the interior out, fit the roll cage, bucket seats and harnesses and try and loose a bit of weight from the car.

Black wheels will be refurbished and painted silver probably, I will be using them for my wet tyres and the silver wheels for dry's.

Priced up all the bits to rebuild the engine, came to just over £200 so will be ordering all that lot later on in the year. Will be a proper rebuild, not just a coat of paint lol

I fitted my polybushes to the bottom arms and tie bar mounts, the old bushes had a good bit of play so were due a change anyway.

Fitted my cage, only the rear half at the moment as I am yet to buy the front half, had to modify it as it was for a non sunroof shell which mine isn't!

Looks nice mate, when's the redtop and speedlines getting fitted lol
only kidding, is it a carb?

muzzy
01-06-10, 11:35 PM
Yeah still on standard Pierburg, I have possibly found a Weber 32/34 though which should be an improvement. This is the first 1.4 carb I have owned and I am surprised how well it goes as it is.

Is that cage bolted or welded in place? looks like its sitting at a wierd angle and to far forward  or mabe just my eyes :tard: lol

muzzy
02-06-10, 01:06 AM
Bolted in, its sat the only way I could get it to sit with all the feet in position, it's all measured up too, although the cage could be straighter than the car lol

Had been ages since I gave the Nova a good wash and polish so decided today was a perfect time to do it. The paint had started to fade very slightly which is typical with red Vauxhall's.

Firstly I washed it, then went over the car with a clay bar, after that I waxed it and went over all the bumpers and black plastics with trim treatment. I removed the grab handle and mirrors to do them as they needed extra work. The tyres didn't look great against the polished bodywork so I went over them with some tyre dressing. once the outside was done I hoovered the interior, cleaned the seats, dash and windows then cleaned and waxed all the metal on show.

There are some area's which are annoying me but nothing I can do until the arches are replaced and it has some paint on it. They are really starting to annoy me now as they are letting the car down badly, along with the wings which have rust at the lip and beside the headlight :(

Passenger door which I have tried to sort although now it sticks out like a sore thumb to me, not overly bad but it just doesn't sit properly now.

On a brighter note I did receive my Honda Jazz rear wiper arm today, so I fitted that -

Nova off the road for a bit to get some bits sorted out that have been annoying me. This meant that I had to fix the 206 which had been off the road for about 6 months

I don't know of any for sale, all the Nova's my mates own have only recently been built or are in the process of being built so not for sale. I got this from Ayrshire so you will probably have to travel south to get one.
