on the end of your clutch cable there is a white plastic half moon. which you clutch cable is thread through, engage your clutch arm in and turn the plastic lugg either out or in accordingly !!!

any further and the plastic bit will come off the thread lol bizarre thing is i adjusted it ages ago and got the height perfect with this method. I dont understand why its doing it now  there doesnt seem to be much life left in the clutch though if this makes any difference, as i have changed engine since?!

Unhook the clutch cable from the arm on the gearbox. Does the cable move smoothly on its own?

Process of elimination :)
I had similar issues when I accidentally sprayed ignition sealer over my clutch cable.
Is the pedal end all set up properly?

How come your fitting a new cable mate? Snapped cable?? Has the clutch been slipping then if so could be on it's way out.

yeh, i had the whole arm assembly out cos im fitting a corsa brake pedal. so we welded a new support bracket onto the clutch pedal assembly and bolted it back in and re-fitted the cable. the clutch works but pedal is very high before it bites (nearly at steering wheel) lol
