No you shouldn't need to weld. When you buy the back box it will have the pipe that connects to the centre section. You then need to cut off the old back box and the new one should slide over or into the pipe which you took the old one off, and you should either get a clamp with the new backbox or off the old one which you need to fit over these 2 pipes and do it up fucking tight !!, you then just need to hang the new back box on the rubbers.

Put some exhaust paste round the joint to stop it blowing. It won't be as easy as it sounds to get the old back box off, expect to have to cut, hammer and rive it off, while laying on your back on the wet ground with rust flakes in your eyes.

i fitted my own b/box and it was piss of piss, a helpfull hint is to prize open the little groves on ya current exhaust (these are where the b/box joins wit the pipe) and spray shit loads of rust releaser then just twist it off !

Did mine myself, would have been a piece of piss but had to grind my old one off. Once its off u need to clean up the existing end of the centre piece and the new back box just slots on (may need to bash it a bit to get a tight fit!)
