Just asking as ive picked up another 3 as of the 17th May lol

Was only an SP30 the first 3, so I did have a clean license then LOL

Been caught doing 81 in a 60 on a dual carrigeway in Stafford lol oh well. Might be able to blag my way out of it tho as Staffordshire Police are pretty soft! (Last time they caught me I got fine/points in post, then a letter a week later saying no further action will be taken lol)

They aren't too bad round here, my mate was doing 108mph following his mate, the copper pulled both and they both got 3 points and £60 fine

each on royally shafting me with everything they have on there system!!
thats why i stick to the speed limit :d

how can a copper actually follow 2 separate vehicles & monitor the speed of both??????? he can't. they were not clever enough to get their way out of that one....

11 years from conviction for:
DR10, DR20, DR30, DR80
CD40, CD50, CD60
CD70

Four years from conviction for:
DD40, DD60, DD80
Offences resulting in Disqualification
Disqualification that requires a resit of driving test.

Four years from offence for:
Everything else.

Speeding fines are valid for 3 years (for totting up), on the license for 4 years, and need declaring to insurance for 5 years (including spent ones - unfortunately the rehabilitation of criminals act thing doesn't cover speeding convictions)

I'm annoyed as I have an SP50/3pts from June 2005, yet my insurance on the Nova is due in a week or two, so I do still have to declare the points. D'oh!

They can, thats how I got caught before in Dudley, me and an MG ZR. He overtook me whilst i was casually overtaking a HGV.

The officer had an on board camera an we had to sit & watch the video, he got banned for 101 in the rain, I got a severe telling off for doing 70 odd in a what used to be a 60 but had been changed to a 50 :S

Even if they couldn't the rear car would have been clocked and he would have lost his licence so better them both get the 3 points

the cop probably had no means of actually proving anything....

I thought if they had the vid they could do you. I've been given a telling off a few times 'cause they just weren't following long enough or I went past them. They got my mate after following for a junction

You do have to be careful saying that thought as sometimes they can & it back fires epicly in your face :(

I heard talk that VASCAR footage has to track you for >1/4 mile to get an accurate/reliable/suitable-for-court-of-law reading.

Mind you, at 100mph it only takes 9 seconds to cover a quarter mile, so they don't need long lol

On my one and only (so far, touch wood) time caught speeding they followed me for the first 1/4 mile and recorded the average speed, then reset and started again, by which point I had realised they were there and slowed up reducing the average of the 2nd speed to that lower of the first.

Came away with 3 points, £60 fine and a thick ear. Points are off now and licence clean.
