Fuel pump

Should tte fuel pump prime the system before it starts the car

what I mean is if I turn the key to the position before starting should the fuel pump come on

I'm using an external pump and have fitted a c14se to my 1.0 and the fuel pump isn't coming on even when starting but does work when connecting it to a battery

The pump should prime when the dash lights come on.

On that engine yes.

Check the fuse (Hope youve put one in!), and make sure the relay is clicking (Put your finger on it and turn the ign on), if not check for live at the relay, if there is 12v there change the relay.

Well I don't think the relay is clicking, and I haven't put a fuse in what size should I put in

the relay is clicking but no power to the pump
