Buy and Evo, better handling car and the newer ones look nicer. Only one good looking Subaru in my opinion and that's the old one with the oblong lights. I haven't a clue what its model name is.

evos are **** as well :D

Dod... first thing what is the year and model/shape.

Classic or newage.

WRX has always been the lesser spec of the varients kinda like a Entry level stuff.

WRX STayyyyeeee

Just sold it. Clutch is bloody easy to replace unlike the evo. That would be the only reason why id have one over the other lol

Ok, it seems to be the earlier model which would make it a non WRX so? Reasons for buying it are the fact I can get it for €500 running but with a large Pole shaped dent spanning the rear passenger side door, the roof and that only the drivers door will open sucessfully. Ideal for: http://www.pngclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=147587

TBH, I'm really just wanting to know if it'd take a days abuse and still start the following day. Also, is it worth anything if broken?

WRX is i think entry level model producing about 210 -220 hp, decent car but top end power, jap spec STi's produce more power around 270-280hp, they have lower comp pistons, revised cam profiles, numerous valvetrain setups, and different gear ratios, some STi's had fancy rear arms coloured pink.
End of the day very tunable car, remember the 2 door coupe in white from CRD done 10 sec quarters, that was built by me, produced 597bhp@1.9 bar boost, with 125bhp nos on top of that.Awesome car to drive!!

I do so love the amount of pish people spout on here pretending they know what they're talking about lol

Dod, very much depends on the year, basically up until c.2002 the WRX was import only and was a fair bit more powerful and better specced than the uk cars. Although as already said the STI has always been the top model apart from the special editions.

Power is anything from 240-280bhp (officially, up to 320 in reality) depending on year, earlier ones were less. Stick 99ron in it and it'll take very hard driving all day long and keep begging for more. Stay over a ton for any length of time though and inlet temps creep up unless it has a bigger scoop or front mount and then you're looking at leaning out which they very much dont like.

For comparison UK cars are around the 220 brake mark and are quite happy with 97ron. Still plenty quick and fun compared to a lot of things (bear in mind thats 20bhp more than an integrale and less weight) just not if you take on an import in a race!

I had a P1 for a while and still very much regret getting rid of it. A lot more of a drivers car than the Evo as there's no computer trickery. And for the misguided bazil, the P1 will leave a 22b for dead on our delightfully crap roads, although the look and go fantastically, they're set up for perfectly smooth tarmac. Majority of the car magazines still rate the P1 as one of the best point to point cars on the road

I've been in a UK spec 1 (STi) and it blew me away!
Was only running about 450 - 500bhp i think...
They can get up to top 500's though IIRC... :S

lol the p1 with it's fancy front struts are pish! Look at the price difference mate, the 22b will always be the daddy, Subaru will never build a car that will be better than it, the RB320 comes close but the B had a purpose, it's a homoligation special the p1 was prodrives toy.

Oh on a side note about the smooth Tarmac I have seen a 22b go round knockhill in time that would have knocked a btcc touring car off pole at knockhill and it was a road car!

What fancy front struts? It's STi struts with different spring rates and different anti-roll bars!

Price difference could be down to the exclusiveness of the 22B and all the trick parts dont ya think? I never said it wasn't a better car, I said the P1's the one more suited to British roads. Hence why it wasn't so much Prodrive's toy, it was their example of the ultimate point to point production car for the UK market.

As for knockhill, yes, that would be smooth tarmac. And a 2.2 turbo with 4wd and track biased suspension was quick round there??? Never!

i own i jap wrx classic v limited edition and there alot of fun and car for the money, handle well and fast, the only big down side is there really bad on fuel even when driven normally, great cars you won't be disapionted.
