just wondering if its legal to have people in the back of your car when there is a roll cage fitted as they could smash their head etc in a crash? also if you have fixed buckets in a 3 door? as people would struggle to get out in a crash.
just wondering as read something in a project thread earlyer. know one would fit past my buckets plus theirs to many bars added to rollcage for anyone to fit in lol

i was once told that if you still have rear seats fitted you can only use reclining buckets or folding seat to gain access to the rear seats as for the cage i dont no but i wouldnt risk it especially if it has a diagonal bar in the rear!!!
however i dont no if you could use a show cage but heh wats the point in them because imo they look **** anyway!

i dont know if its legal or not but i wouldnt want to risk it!
I wouldn't ever have people sitting in the back of a car with a proper roll cage. If you have a cage then you should have fixed back bucket seats and harnesses, both of which are not a good mix for passengers sitting behind.

just to add, as far as im aware its a legal requirement to have access to the back seats if fitted.

Show cages are lethal for the driver, let alone the passengers.

I would never have someone in the back. Just wondering. My car has fixed buckets and cage but I have to leave the full interior in to compete in road rallys? Only things I can remove are front seats for buckets and front seat belts for harnesses. Where would I stand and every other road rally car? :s
I have been involved in the MOT of a few road rally cars and in the MOT test there were no problems with the back seats being fitted with fixed bucket seats etc. Road traffic laws on the other hand I am not sure, I can't see there being a problem unless you were carrying rear passengers.

Meh, I wouldnt bother with passangers and a cage,
If the car goes over, they are smashed into the cage, then trapped in the car thats on fire/underwater/not good etc!
No need, but I cant see a law stopping it, only the seats one lol

Yeah I've never had problem with mot of my car. I won't have to worry about people in the back of mine as there's bars everywhere, they'd never fit in, it has no seat belts as A reg and why would I want people in back of rally car :) just for people who have a cage in their daily :D
