Right ive just fitted a c16xe to a 1L nova.

Its in and runs fine but the battery doesnt charge. im using the corsa starter loom.

the only thing i have noticed is that the 1L altenator has this on the back of it

but the c16xe altenator doesnt.

anyone know how i can test it to make sure its the altenator thats gone?

also from the nova starter loom there is a black wire which i cant see where it would go to. any ideas?

Use the nova starting/charging loom

its all in now with the corsa one. i dont see many differances with using the corsa one compared to the nova anyway.

Any gen on the black wire in the Nova starter loom if i was to use that then?

the pic is a radio suppressor, mostly fitted with am radios. you either can't have the charge wires in right, or the alt is shot

iirc, the wire that runs to the dash for the charging light must be connected or it wont charge.

how would i go about testing the altenator? also is that radio thing needed?

and would that wire be the blue and white?

and would that wire be the blue and white?

yes, and the radio thingy is not 100% necessary

Your link cable that goes from altenator to the strater backfeeds the battery does it not?

Start the car, multimeter out and see if there is anything backfeeding through that cable. If you have voltage it works.

well its not charging at all. and it keeps popping the battery light bulb .

When the car revs the battery light gets brighter.

Any ideas?
