i have just fitted an alarm i was given but it didn't have ne wiring instructions so i had 2 use the multimeter problem is,

there were 2 yellow wires joined 2getha by a connector. i assume this is an immobiliser but it doesn't have any power reading when the alarm is armed or disarmed or if the ignition is on and off. can ne1 help with this? also i have wired in my led which turns on when the alarm is set but doesn't flash when the siren goes of any help? also the alarm has a bonnet switch but i also need a boot switch can i just splice this wire in 2 and run 1 2 each switch?
also if the yellow wires r the immobiliser which color wire do i connect it 2 on the ignition circuit?(prob best 2 pm me bout this don't want ne twocers knowing the answer)

cheers

it shouldnt give out any voltage

it should simply act as a switch

u wanna cut the black wire to the coil

connect one end to one of the yellows and the other side to the other yello and give it a shot

frist off, cut the yellow wire in half as aragorn says then put either end on the multimeter and do a continuity test, to see if it is acting as a swtich (making a cicuit and cutting it)

there should be a way of measutring resistance?

look for something labelled ohms or sommat

basically set it to that, then put one probe on either wire, if there is no reading on the meter the wire is broken, if the needle shoots across or display reads a number, then you know it is a continuous loop (hence continuity test)
