lol I once had a sunstrip come loose and it 'smashed' against the side of the car and every little piece stuck :(

The initial fluttering noise was similar to when the gutter strip broke on my Nova and it was tappng on the window. Both events happened at night so I was thinking WTF is that?! lol

please, people, stop fighting.... the 1.2 8v vauxhall engine in spi form is actually used as the basis for most of the land speed record attempts* in this country. it is well known that the published figures were just to appease the insurers, and it is actually capable of supercar performance... the list of cars that a nova has blown away over the years reads like the top gear lap time list.





*basis means, it has been fragmented, smelted & the metal used to make far superior machinery

i had 110 out of my old 1.2 once, down a hill with the wind behind me, that put hair on my eyes! scary lol.
the speedo was reading 120 tho, but the sat nav was 110

1. sat navs aren't anywhere near as accurate as you think....
2. posting this crap about getting 110 in a 1.2 is only going to get stick off the ones of us old enough to know that the police actually trawl thru internet forums & most of us have pics of our cars with their reg's showing.....
3. claiming 110 down a hill is neither big or clever.
4. i have done an indicated 115mph in a 1.4 nova, on an autobahn & tbh it didn't feel that fast, but i have driven much faster stuff than a nova

Oh - that brings back memories - mine was the Lazer blue C20XE SR running down the strip/panning shots

I still remember when the director said - just cruise down the strip keeping equal distance apart so we can get a good panning shot - ended up being a race to the finish line - not so good when the car a few feet in front misses a gear !!!!

My 1.0 did 105, down a hill, huge hill, with the valves bouncing, at the bottom it snapped a valve, and bent alot of things, took the plug out, and ran it on 3.

Believe me, I dont "Bull" speeds up.

105 is the absolute limit for a 1.0 nova:thumb:
