Just bought a MOCAL oil sandwhich plate, due to it being shinylol

Speaking to Graeme today, he said they dont have a thermostat, which means it will take alot longer to come up to temps etc.

Will this affect the driving etc?

Also will it affect the "Oil temp" AKA be too cold, and cause damage?

Car will be a road/track car, and when on track will get hammered, but not hammered on road.

Im trying to get a balance of road and tracklol

You need the oil to be up to temp for it to work properly. So running an oil cooler without a stat is not a good idea.

The oil would not get circulated around the oil cooler in normal road driving. It just dosn't get hot enough.

Simple answer - Fit a stat.

The like of XEs and any other Vauxhall enine with an oil cooler (TD Cavs?) will have a stat equipped Sandwich plate so they aren't hard to find.
