it has the 2litre 16v ecotech
engine managment light is on
and hits limiter at 4.5k
can anyone help

Sounds like its gone into safe mode my dads volvo did sumthing simlar to this? im not %100 its the same ?

flash read the fault memory see what faults are stored??

Classic crank sensor failure symptom (check wiring first, then check sensor is still mounted properly, then replace).

these also run a cam sensor which can have the same fault. flashcode it and get back to us.:thumb:

When my old ecotec cav did this, I'd set off and get rolling then turn it off and then back on again letting it bump start it's self. This seemed to bypass all the pre-flight checks and let it run as normal.

A bit dodgy I know, but after the 3rd sensor failiure I was confident the engine was fine and it was only the sensor that was knackered. Kept me going at full power until I got round to getting another one fitted.
