hey there, i had a 1.6 sport m reg astra that i used to use as a bit of a run around, until the gearbox gave up and i havnt done anything with it since. however i am now without a car again and i remembered that a long time ago i pulled apart a nova 1400 sr as part of a project and i still have the gearbox. now im thinking that this could be a conveinient swap? this might be a silly enquirey but before i get too stuck in was just wondering if anyone has any experience with this swap, wat would be required ect?
cheers tim.
Should see no reason why it wouldnt fit mate.
Astra will prob run a F15, id check the Nova gearbox, If its F13 it should be fine, If its F10 then there might be some issues. Im sure it is F13 though!
The F numbers can be found just behind/under the U bit for the linkage.

Could be an f10cr though aw iirc.
check your f number, if it is an f10, just get the relevant fly and clutch. win.
Could be an f10cr though aw iirc.
Yeah, i cant remember if some came with F13's or not so.
As sloth said it means changing the clutch and fly. Not ideal!
/\ wut? easy as pie. and makes it a lightened fly technically...

I think some did AW the later ones iirc but as sloth said if its an f10 and he fits the fly and clutch assembly its like having a ligthend fly.
Hardly a five min job to change the clutch and fly, from the first post i understand he wants it done quickly so he can use it!
Finding a flywheel and buying a clutch isnt ideal.

Yea true so an f13 would be ideal providing it fits over current fly.
if you have the box off, its 10 mins max. not hard at all.
at what point will people realise the flywheel is bigger on the 1.6, and so is the bellhousing, if you fit a f10 type flywheel, the starter won't engage..... and the f10 bellhousing is too small to clear the end of the starter.
just use the f10 starter?
just use the f10 starter?
and the casting on the block is further out, so it will miss.............
