ecu warning light, fuel vent valve??

Could the fuel vent valve cause the warning light to stay on if it isnt hooked it up to any pipe work? i thought mabye its not reading anything so the ecu mite think theres something wrong... has anyone got theres 'just plugged in no pipes' without having the warning light up on the clocks?

mine is plugged in but the pipes arent and no ecu lights.
