Just flashed the codes and got 12 and 47. Code 47 is the EGR valve - any ideas how to fix it?

I've taken it off, cleaned all the carbon off it (that i could get to) and check the breather pipe isn't block, but the ECU light is still on :(

Help!

EGR has no electrical connection. I can't see how or why it'd throw that up??

Its thrown it up before, i think they just get carbon'ed up

Yeah but its not connected via any wire or sensor to the ECU in any way.
I never had any issues with mine, I never actually thought it worked, it seemed too crude & old to work..

As above, it's somewhat similar to your ECU telling you you're out of milk. They don't even have a lambda so it's not even like it can work out the EGR is at fault due to lambda readings.

It makes as much sense as an E16SE fault reading throwing up your lambda..
the std EGR just works on vacuum to operate at small throttle openings/cruise doesent it?

I blanked mine off.

It does indeed work on vac, I never got round to blanking mine tbh.

I have blanked it off now, using the coca-cola can method! The light is on, but it seem to idle and rev a little better...
