right then engine has been fine, but suddenly went like this last week.
when its cold it seems ok
then soon as the engine warms up it starts spluttering violently starts from 2k then just keeps dooing it through out the rev range then if you keep foot on throttle it'll just die. revs drop and throttle wont do any thing, can just hear a quiet grunt from induction (only faint tho)

but if i dip the clutch and rev it then it'll go back to driveable but spluttering if that makes sence

new dizzy and rotor arm, new leads and plugs, notice my crank sensor was damaged (wires)
replaced it with a second hand one (not sure if its a goodun or not) then started the car and it was worse for a min, it wouldnt rev at all. would idle then when rev itd do that quiet induction noise.

then after a few mins it went back to how i described at first

just crank sensor ?? (as it changed when i fitted the other one)

cheers lew

Assuming there isnt a EML on?

Could be an air leak? Or AFM - I have had 2 go on me recently - try another and see how it goes....

so does it idle OK and rev OK at standstill?

check your fuel pressure!

right then, just been out and had another listen etc.

idles ok sometimes. quiet alot tho at junctions it wants to cut out.

if i hold revs any where below 2k its fine soon as i hold them any where above 2k it wont stay there it drops say a line on the counter then back to where your holding it, then if you hold revs up near say 4k it'll drop to about 2k then back to where your holding it at 4k

the if you take it to the limiter as the revs drop, the throttle wont do anything and you can just hear slight induction noise but wont do anything

when driving it its well violent as can see where the powercap has been hittin the bulk head from it. and its the whole car that jumps real bad

could be a number of things, air leak in the system, Fuel rail needs bleeding or pressure thing is a bit tooted. check vacum hoses on things, idle control valve is not kinked or twiseted or being restricted or isnt loose. any unread ecu codes may point to something, dodgey lambda sensor if it has one, jumped a few teeth as lee has said. or one or two of the sensors is tooted. or one is unplugged, or a sticky valve (unlikely) but its jsut going down the list and ticking them off
