Don't you have to lift the bonnet a bit to fit a V6 under using the Vauxhall inlet? Also, Craig, if you still have them for sale next friday let me know :thumb:

The 3.0 inlet is the fat one that doesn't fit.

Raised bonnets are ghey, hopefully if hotbit's bulged bonnet fits over my inlet I'll be able to have one that fits and shuts properly

I was chatting to a mate of mine about these bonnet raising blocks, he has them on his Escort. He's doing a motorsport mechanics course and his tutor worked at Fords helping with the design of the Escort Cossie. The tutor reckoned that raising up the bonnet messes up the airflow through the engine bay. Apparently they spent a lot of time researching where to put the cossie vents in the bonnet for maximum effect. He's point was that by raising up the bonnet it messsed up the airflow and probably wouldnt help with keeping under bonnet temperatures down. I know some people raise it up to clear engine parts, but most people think do it to keep there engine cool. Im just passing on what I heard, so dont start questioning me! I wouldnt know!
lol
p.s Wouldnt you start getting engine fumes sucked through the heater and into the car if the bonnet wasnt sealing against the bulkhead/firewall rubber seal???

Yep, the base of the bonnet is a +ve air pressure area, hence why the air vents are on the scuttle panel. Air gets pushed back in under the bonnet up there and as you say, mucks up the underbonnet air flow.

I've got a link saved at work where a fella with a BMW mini measured the air flow and underbonnet temps with the bonnet shut properly and raised. Having it raised increased temperatures.

theres no need to raise the bonnet for the corsa setup? Just have to have it around the right way, or cut a bit out of the underbonnet bracing?

Jack
