the only thing it needs is an exhaust, but a dont think that should be too expensive.

Carltons are awsome, properly big comfy barges, as said the only real issue is rot, everywhere, arches, chassis legs in particular.

Dont drift it if it is a good one though, because chances are you will bin it, im not saying you cant drive, its just much more likely to happen if you skid a car.

My mate bought a 2.0 8v for about £50 a few years back, auto but went slideways very well, electric everything and full trevor interior, awesome cars for the little money they go for these days, get it bought and enjoy big sideways comfort:thumb:

I always fancied a Carlton or Senator estate as a cheap barge to flap around in

up until a couple of years ago my boss would drive nothing else. he absolutley loves them. don't know what he did to his as i never asked but i remember him telling me they were rapid, seem to recall a story of him racing an m5 in one. 150mph+ quite easily i believe. his last one was a red diamond? estate with a gsi engine i think and whenever we pass one in the van he takes the opportunity to remind me that his last one was written off by a student crashing her fiesta into it, must have heard that story 100 times lol

I have a Carlton Diamond, 3.0 24v factory estate, its Auto and awesome. Its black and nicknamed "the Hearse". A fantastic machine and will diff from noon til night. Only thing to watch for is a knocking diff but that shouldn't be an issue and head gasket failure. I've a Kenlow cool stat, larger Rad and Mocol oil cooler and its A1. Since then the engine is dead but I have a conversion in the pipe line for it.....

Carltons are one of those cars you have to own before you die.
