Only pics i got as i only had my phone on me. Will get some more next time i go over. It is very clean indeed. 14k on the lock. Just got an MOT on it, flew through!!! Tiny spot of rust at the bottom of the arch, but that is it!! I was gob smacked when i saw it. Blue interior aswell. Its a 1300.

He is thinking of selling it, but i am trying to get him to keep it

He's not sure. He is thinking it over. I said now he has finished his split screen camper, this would be another cool retro project!! He like the sound of that lol

Will have to get more pics. It needs a good wash/wax and a hoover, but will come up a treat. Old boy used it to pop to the shops and back. It has the original tyres on it IIRC!!!

Just out of pure interest (dont want this to be a whats it worth thread..) what sort of money are they fetching? Might make his decision about what to do easier.

Yeah it is. He said it had some poke in it. Is this the same as a 1.3 SR engine then??

not many seem to come up for sale, there was 2 last year near me one was GTE and the other was 1300 the 1300 was a real state and people was saying there fairly rare, think it sold for 1300£, there are a couple about now in the area of 600-1k needing a lot of work so its hard to say with a good clean low mileage one thats not had c20let put in, MK1OC maybe able to help you out better, i think i would keep it and store it mate.

its better than the sr, its got the gm varajet II carb, beloved of grasstrack racers, it was good for 75hp when new... it just needs 175/70r13's and gte arbs & it will actually handle really well. they are great for oversteer too.

There was one round here for sale, 5 door in the same colour for £120. Was up advertised for ages, I only saw it from a distance and it looked good but not sure what it would have been like up close. I was really interested but wasn't sure what I would actually do with it and then it sold.

you could have sold the carb & manifold for more than the purchase price... & the xe/let conversion is a lot easier. there is tons of room in an astra engine bay

I already have a manifold and carb from a MK1 Astra 1300 lol

The guy who bought it is actually fitting a LET from his MK3 Astra GSi as it was like a teabag.

i bow down before you....... seriously though, i don't think its that much better than a pierburg, i always got the feeling that the astra exhaust system was better.
