you need to replace the top bracket holding the alternator on, with a slider adjustable one :)
ok cheers mate 1.4 sr one fit you reckon?

i think mine was of a seh engine
there is a tensioner availible, some of the 1.4 sports came without pas, rather than use a tensioner i bought a shorter belt then bolted the alternator in place im sure it was an 860 belt then wedge the alternator and fit top bolt. No chassis mod needed.
I will have a look through epc now for the tensioner part no.
okie doke i will make somethin lol

thats not fitting lol
as Baxter says, replace the alternator bracket with a sliding one, the 1.4sr is the same as the 1.2/1.4, looks to me like you could do something with abit of flat bar and a drill though!

I tried to make a normal adjuster for mine & it was a ball ache. using the GM tensioner is the way forward IMO. Nice one Fow for putting up all the info you'd need.
Btw multi-V belt & pulley fitted fine in my car.
As the wide belt stuff does in mine.
Baxter i thought you had space too?
I know southie hasnt, but he has solid mounts.

yeah but its so much better with a V belt lol
Oh yeah i know that, more fun trying to fit a belt onto a wide setup.
It will work though.
Yes you are missing the tensioner bracket and bolt that bolts onto the back/top of the alternator. You then just wind the bolt to tension the belt.
Late Corsa SPi's had them
i made an top adjuster :)
Also another question im guessing the corsa rear engine mount is differant to the nova one as my engine is sitting rather forward
you need nova mounts all round
Corsa gear linkage is different too
i know the linkage is differant.
the mount is aswell lol ill get some pics of the clearance. loads of room at the back :)
Adam can you change the title to c16xe help please as im sure ill have some more questions to chuck at the thread tomorrow (ill pm you)
