I am not paying through the nose for an amp wiring kit! I have every grade of cable avilable to me at work. What size cable would be suitable to use as the live and earth? I want a size that would cope with a massive amp so i have the choice in the future. What size mm2? As for remote a 1.5 single will do wont it?
I think i will run the live down the drivers side and the rest down passenger? Is this a good idea cos of frequencies etc and easier to get to head unit and battery this way?
Anyone got some phono cables??

I didn't wait for a reply and worked it out myself!
For example: If i were to have a 1000w max amp it would draw a max ampage of 83 amps.
this is done by power is equal to volts x amps, so amps is equal to power divided by volts. 1000/12 = 83.3
This is never going to happen and if running at 500w RPM then would draw about 45 amps
Using 10mm squared cable will very easily handle 50 amps so i am going to use that! plus most amp wiring kits come with a 35amp ish fuse. Not going to go into the IEE Regs for cable sizes but 10mm will do!
And i will use a 16mm earth cos it had a better insulation than the 10mm that we had in the store so less chance of getting wrecked in my boot!!
As for the remote cable i am using 1.5mm blue.
