It's a temporary thing, but could become permanent if the bike carbs fail big time.
Will it run? Will it be usable? I've heard the 1e is OK up to about 90 bhp, then it starts to run out of puff.
The engine will be Mildly cammed with a polished head and a 4 branch aswell if that makes any difference.

I would guess it will underfuel quite excessively if its had headwork and a cam although I dare say it would be drivable just poor performance. The early 1300s were fitted with a single barrel carb iirc.
i ran my homemade 1400 on one & it was fine

I'm assuming that's the "special" 1400 you made mowgli, and if it is, I think it should be fine on my engine then. Cheers both of you for replies :D
yes. it could pull clean from 15mph to 115 (on clock) in top gear & it would return 35mpg on decent runs, 32mpg average

Surely a 1400 in gwo should make that sort of mpg anyway?

it's not about the MPG Blackie, i dont want the hassle of 1)buying a 2e in good nick and 2) putting up with a 90% surely knackered autochoke.

it was a 1.3 with machined 1.2 pistons to make a 1400. it ran 10:1cr & i caned it everywhere, and I mean properly caned it....
