Then it was onto getting rid of the rust in the guise of two perfectly matching doors and a boot lid and a wing!...

This weekend. Lecky windows were fitted along with and the passenger door.
All red striping has been removed. and it's looking pretty goooood!

Soooo... All of the above was completed in just over 4 weeks!

Next up boot lid, Wings and a full detail! Also a few little custom touches too!

Oh and a mint rainbow interior! lol

So whipped the bootlid into the house and set about stripping the wiring out of the shot boot and moving it across to the new bootlid minus the unneeded wiring (wiper motor etc) many hours of swearing and cut fingers later with a gap in the rain I was out like a shot and the new bootlid is back on! no pics yet as i'm gonna finally polish the bugger tomorrow!

Good old Deceiving volkswagen, I wasn't even using the engine. The car was being moved and powered by the self importance of the VW badge and the VW community spirit... (Great MPG but no road tax difference....) lol

Todays Progress! I finished off the boot!
Checked the electrics and after blowing both my number plate bulbs I had a head scratch about that, Thinking that i'd butchered the wrong loom from the boot etc etc... then realised that you need to have a end to an earth wire!!
So that fixed that and then I waited for the other 1/2 to show up with my new rear no plate bulbs so I could test... Had a bit of time to kill so
Whilst waiting I set about detailing the car....

It's all surface (bar the bit round the towing eye)
Will be grinding welding filling and painting the rear panel soooon! :thumb:
(I've done all this work in 4 weeks approx so not too bad)

Still undecided if i should de badge the rear though......
