oil leak!!!

hi, just got my 16xe running at last and came accross an oil leak comin from where the gearbox meets the sump.

took the gearbox,flywheel etc off.....

oil everywhere as expected,cleaned with brake cleaner, removed the crankshaft oil seal but cant understand why its leaking.

going to refit a new one on thursday but is there any technique to fitting these? iv always just gently tapped them into place.

also im goin to drop the sump,and remove the main bearing cap(the one nearest the seal) as i think it may also be leaking oil as i may not have put enough sealent down the grooves. any suggestions on whats best???

Block of wood, bang it in dead square, Somtimes you still cant get it to stop leaking, mate did his 3 times before it worked

clean out any breathers too.

basically, you make/find something the right diameter to drift it in.
