Hey all,

Ive just stripped down my 1.4 engine due to belt snapping and was making sure everything was ok which it was no nasty surises but what I need to know now it how to set the timing up when I rebuild it. I know how to set pistons its the camshaft I am unsure about. Any help would be great.

Set the camshaft sprocket with the vertical line on the outside of one of the teeth against the notch in the cambelt back plate (its at 1200 as you look at it straight on)

Also make sure piston 1 is at tdc.

11'o clock?
The mark on the cam sprocket should point straight up vertical

whip the dizzy cap off and make sure the dizzy is roughly there once you've set the cam before trying to start
