X16xe Egr Help

Hello my girlfriends car is running like a bag of s*it and stalling eml light on.
So i plugged com on and it said p1405 which i googled and is the egr what should i do have read about it but many different ideas should i replace witha new one £55+vat or
clean this one price of gasket or
blank off what have people on here done with this problem please help?

Best bet would be to blank it off on the engine. You'll need to keep the valve connected to keep the ECU happy - soak it with carb cleaner to get all of the carbon/crap out of it and all should be good.

So clean it then blank it off and bolt it back on to of the blank?

No, blank the engine and tie up the valve to something else, bulkhead bracket or otherwise. Leave the loom plugged in. Cleaning the valve should make it work properly and as it's not exposed to all the crap from the exhaust it should carry on 'working'.
