tried everything to get it running today but with no joys

sounds daft but have you got the ecu live connected up and battery charged also if the ecu is nackered or got cheap chips it will do that aswell

had the ecu and coil on dom's mk1 astra and it started and run fine in his so there fine
battery was on charge as we were testing everything
and ecu live meaning the black wire.?
if so yes to the ignition and even tried it straight to the battery

no the big red one thats usualy in a black sheath that should go straight to the battery

Ill second that napalm the looms have there own battery live wire it could be black though think mine is you carnt miss it it should be the only one with a ring connector on.

as iv pulled all the wiring apart and havnt found anything as such

its a long red wire, you usualy can't miss it!

its usualy realy long and comes out the loom near the gromit for the bulkhead and on its own in a cav they run along the top of the bulkhead to the battery

Not sure mate ive just had a look atsome of the pics in your thread and carnt see any thickish wires coming from the loom to the batt i think mine is near were the fuel octane plug is .

well im down with it tomorrow so will look for it then
if i find it then il wire it to the battery if i cant il be finding the nearest thickest red wire going to the ecu and putting the fooker to the battery lol

Nath thats what me and nick were trying to get at mate. on his mk3 when he had nothing it was the main fuse that controls his live. so instead of looking for the fuse/relay prehaps we should of been looking for the main live itself;) lol
