wooo :D proper chuffed, i know its only BASIC stuff, but considering the only time ive ever been on a bike was on daves little chicken chaser across a tiny carpark :D

I've just got back and my god what an experience yeah it was only a little 125cc Geared bike thing which only did 60 but meh... it felt awesome, miles more feeling etc than a car. im sticking with the DAS route and getting a 600cc CBR as even on my CBT the little 125 was just urm slow.

I soooooo cant wait now, but i need to boook my theory test now and then onto the DAS :D

i remember doing my CBT and it is an immense feeling the first time you ride a bike,

the CBR's are rapid, take it easy lol.

there is alot more feeling, alot more of a sense of speed. and just alot more going on.

im holding back alot to not buy another bike.

must resist.

Gaz, my first bike was a Gsxr 750..

I was on it 10 minutes after passing my test.. Awesome.

Any 600cc bike will be a good bike.

Before you go and spunk shed loads of cash on one. Just think about how often your going to use it.

No good having £3-4K of bike lying about doing nothing.

Mine was my only form of transport, so i got the usage out of it.

CBT is that cock & ball torture?

[edit] btw when it comes to bikes I'd have a retro yamaha TZR or RD. YPVS just kicked in Y0.

Spud, i can ride a Geared 125 lol not just a ped... :P

Loads of people keep saying ouhhhh your gona kill yourself if your first bike is a 600cc...

Its how you ride it, I know it may have the power etc but at first i want to get used to a big bike so i will gradually open it up more and more as i feel more confident.

Im not that nutty, I've had the "safety" side of things drummed into my head lol and driving cars for the last 10 years has given me some good road sense :D

I need to stop covering my brake as I would do on the MTB lol, I got shouted at loads for that, i kept putting three fingers on the brake leaver and leaving one wrapped around the throttle.

Oh and cheers Rick, No doubt i'll be asking for Proper Riding advice once passed. I cant wait to book my first track day on the thing... :thumb:

well done mate, need to get round to doin this sometime.
just got maself a kmx200 for some offroad after getting jealous of my mate riding about on my old dt125. thing feels like an animal offroad but then again i've not ridden all winter n a only had the 125 last year.
is it just me that thinks bikes feel really slow on the road?? 30mph feels as if you're going at walking pace?? maybe because I'm used to riding offroad?

£80 isnt bad. I must do my CBT really. My Dad is a complete biker nutt.
If I was into bikes I would get so much help & probably free loans off him bor bike related stuff. When it comes to cars he doesnt get them at all.

I so want an RD 350LC to restore. Keep googling them & looking at them on the bay, typical that they cost fook loads now.

Mate most of my mates ride bikes and a lot of them refer to them as peds haha, even an R1 is a 'ped' due to this lol

Trust me a CBR 400 is a baby blade, a 125 is a raleigh shopper in comparison :p

Where you goin' for your DAS?

Rexy
13-05-10, 09:30 PM
I did my CBT with a couple of old dogs up at horwich, they will be doing my DAS as well.

I've got the highway code book and a copy of "how to ride" by the DSA.

Tells you about well everything really, driving for ten years gives you a good idea on certain things as well. If i fail i will really have to laugh at myself.

West pennine are cheaper pal. £399 for 3days, including test fees and CBT(although you've done that, might be even cheaper..)

Got a wedding to pay for first pal, but me and a few lads are aiming to each get it done. Can't wait tbh!

Rexy
13-05-10, 11:28 PM
TBH they may be cheaper, but ive got a bit of a rappal with them now. they are pretty good and gave me confidence in myself with the riding etc.
