As per the title really? I assume there isn't much that can be done?
it bolts in exactly where any other ohc engine & there are 5 wires that need doing.
as it is simply a factory installation, all the info is in the haynes book.

Sorry, I meant to write the word "tuning" in the title, bloody old age and forgetfullness!!!
ok, head work & cam is pretty much it... followed by twin 40's or bike carbs..
with the injection one, things are a bit limited unless a new mappable ecu is fitted
i'm working on a big valve head in the next few weeks, i will put pics up as soon as i've made progress.

Good man yourself. I assume that all 16s don't have a big valve head?
they are bigger than the std carbed engines, but they could do with being bigger.
if you want to get serious, then tuning a 1600 is not cheap, suddenly sticking an xe in is the cheapest option...

Nah, don't wanna get to serious, just wanna get this szr engine up to 100 brake

Run it on 3.1 Jetronic & make sure you arent down on compression as a result of the later head & inlet etc. Turn it into an E16SE.

Yea I would like to turn it into the gte engine, but can't find a head/manifold/loom/brain :( only complete engine

Oh, I should be up on compression slightly as I used a 1.4 head gasket which apparently has a bore of 77.5mm and the 1.6 has a bore of 79mm
so basically your headgasket is sat inside the bores and doesn't fit properly, that's not as good as you think it is lol

i have a manifold including injectors wiring loom, coil, dizzy and ecu of an e16se if your interested

I'd be interested if the price was right lol

well, that's the figures I got from the motorfactors, however I feel I would have noticed an overlap when I was doing the job as I am a bit anal when it cones to jobs like that, i tend to check that all the holes are in the right place, shape, size etc .......
i think the actual gasket will be a little bigger than the bores on a 1400, so it should just about be ok

Well it's done nearly 5k on that head gasket with no water useage or any pressurising of the system so I wrecking it'll be fine for a good while yet!
ITs going to increase the Cr by approxomately shag all lol
Read the 1.4 guide, and change 1.4 for 1.6 lol

But surely the 1300 head would inrease the cr by too much and she would blow herself to pieces?
where the funk did you get 1.3 head from?

In the 1.4 tuning guide it says about fitting a 1.3 head to the 1.4 as the ports are better?
ignore that bit. you treat it like a 14SE.. same head
