right basically i no this is the trottle position sensor

i no it sits on the side of the trottle body

what does it do
how can i test it works?
and how can i clean maintain it?

Haynes usually gives test info for sensors.

What engine is it off. Coilpack or dizzy type XE?

Does it click when you move the TB?

it tells the ecu what percentage of throttle you are at, in turn the ecu will set the injector pulse rate to suit the mapped throttle percentage.

what he said ^^^ basically tells the ECU to throw more fuel into the cylinders
