do conversion shafts run f20 big block inner CVs and standard outer CVs?

or are both CVs big block and thus requiring machined hubs and big block flanges?

22 splinte shafts (gte shafts) running mk2 cavvy 1600 cv's

then they fit the f20 and the standard hubs

not exactly what he asked. if he goes and buys "conversion shafts" from a shop they wont be 22 spline ones.

"proper" conversion shafts are big block cvs both ends and therefore you need the big block hubs aswell

oh right so conversion hubs that i would buy from the various companies selling them would be fully big block and i would need the hubs done too?

depends there are 3 types of shaft

big block inner and outer are now the norm so you would need the hubs and carriers

the old method courtenay used was tapered shafts inner big block and outer nova these are still available in places but i wouldnt recomend them i broke 3 sets

the other method is to use nova gte/gsi 22 spline shafte with 1.6 cavalier inners as there big block and fit the shaft and being nova shafts have the nova outter these are what just novas used to use

hope that helps

thats good info thanks.

theyre going on an x14xe nova rally car as the box i have just bought is fitted with a diff with f20 side gears for big shafts. i thought i might be able to find a way of using conversion shafts to avoid having to find/make modified hubs but i'll just see whats available

do the last one blue peg said, you won't need modified hubs then.
