nope, rifles are still legal, either for hunting or target shooting, it was only pistols that were outlawed after the whole dunblaine thing.
a shotgun certificate is fairly easy to get, with testimonies from various people, including proof that you have a genuine need/usage for one (like a letter from a land owner stating you have permission to shoot game etc on his land)
to get a firearms certificate itd a whole lot more complicated with so many checks. its also all very expensive

air rifles, just walk into a shop and prove your over 18 :thumb:

great urban myth..... they actually need the strong steel barrel round them to actually direct the force... basically they are a large firecracker if you did that.... they would still be dangerous though
