Too much rust, still got the upper front pannel to fit, and fit a back pannel
But, when its done, it will be 99% rightlol

Haha, not lack of skills, lack of patience with bodywork, Im trying to do it all myself, except the paint on the top.
Cage is basically in now, and I still have front upper pannel to do, and a back pannel, 2 arches, interior, make bucket mounts, primer the whole car, put engine and box in, sort all suspention etc.
What is the point, as it will only be as quick, as some thrown together mess of a c20xe nova:cry:

I'd rather build a nova than buy 1 because it's your own personal touches that make it the car that it is.
If you go and buy someone elses work it's all well and good but their isn't a personal touch to it and therefore it's just like any other car.

I know, just in a bad patch with the ****ter, lol
All will be well, just abit poo, having to get lifts to your garage, cz you have no car:(
Build is better IMO; yes its more effort, but at the end you have a car that you built. As said, you can build it how you like it, and more importantly you know the quality level of the work. Plus if you buy thats £2500 outright, where as building allows a higher budget which is spread out over time.
Or do what I do and just comission Lee to do all the hard work whilst I mince around painting bits of trim LOL
if thats all your worried about, sell it all and buy a thrown together sh*t box nova.
if you want a decent nova that will last more than 3 months, then carry on as you are.
building mine has taken over a year and most the hard work was done when i got it. take a few days away from it, then re attack it with a fresh head. you will get loads more done next time you go work on it than staying working now when your angry and want to smash it :)

That is a big problem for me, killed a bonnet the other day, because it looked at me funnylol
Yeah, me and a mate are going down tommorow to finish the cage, gonna have a bbq, and drag it outside to work on, weather permitting.
Think I need to see some more nova GTE's to spur me on.
I think the main disheartener is CoolTigers GTI, £2000, streight out the box, its almost as quick as a 2l nova, maybe 1s in it from 0-100
Ahh well, back to stripping underseal, and painting the underside for melol

Nah, the mrs would distract me, I mean, what would you rather look at?

Hmm, may start a w.i.p, ive not got many pics though lol
Come to think of it, I was talking to Lee the other day about cost of my V6.
I reckon it stands me at about £1k all-in, including building the initial XE version. Ok, its cost me more in terms of buying stuff, but I've recouped money by selling stuff I didn't need.
Not bad, £1k for 210bhp. A decent LET engine alone would probably cost you that lol
Nope, not too sure about them tbh.
Then everyone knows what, where, and who is in your garage etc.

Exactly the reason why i havent done one, only the previous owner (member off here) of my car has pics of the w.i.p

For me, 70% of the fun is in the building of the thing. Why do you think Rexy buys a car, paints it, and then gets bored and sells it? We all love taking the pee out of him for it, but he loves fiddling with cars more than driving them, so fair play.
If you are truely not enjoying building it, buy one ready made. Nothing wrong with that at all IMO. Horses for courses.
my estate owes me about £500 and ive done sheet loads of miles in it.
the saloon owes me about £1500-£2000 and is a bare shell now that has done 200 miles!!!!! errr

I have always told people i prefer to build them than drive them. All the cars i have had in the past and i hardly ever drive lol
The satisfaction of knowing that I made it they way I want it...Crap or not.

The first one i own, but had several engines in the other nova, and did a 2l corsa for a local lad.
Its clearly not £100 worth of stuff though sloth, for example, would you sell it for £100? Thought not:roll:

doesnt matter. i paid £80 for the car, and sold £75 of stuff off it. so it cost £5. i got the mounts for £30 and the shafts for £30. i swapped the 1.6 i got for free for a 2.0, and ive spent £30 on sundry stuff. id prob sell it when ikts done for £500.

What does the v5 say? Dave the bodywork guy who was drafted in to help? Nope it says Matt Brown. Plenty of people try to do everything and end up unhappy, read peoples write ups in the mags... Couldn't have done it without Dave the bodyshop guy... I.E sometimes no Dave no perfection. So you'll end up with a motor that owes you 5k that is only worth it's parts as someone would strip it 'cause the shells a welded unprofessionally painted shed

I'd agree the fun is in the build.
My SR body wise is done, and altho the standard colour etc, I love seeing bodywork come together. My two previous builds i've had colour changes. Gives uniqueness. This SR was supposed to be a fit and forget Nova, but I keep thinking I wanna go mental on a build again. With that though, i've bought the wrong car - its value is that its a tidy SR!
