When lowering a five-door Nova, do you need springs that are specific to a five-door or will most spring sets work?
All wisdom gratefully recieved.

Cool. Thanks lads. Have been looking on Ebay and some descriptions say stuff like not for five door / GTE / SRi etc - but it looks like that's just bollocks!
gte is lower by 25mm to start with. so base it on std nova.

60mm was what I was thinking. Not too low, but low enough.

And change cvs every few 1000 mileslol

I think 60mm will do fine. I'm not into sump-dragging or arch-rubbing, so I'll take it down 60mm and leave it there. Shouldn't kill too many cv's that way either.

Mine was 70ish on the front, and killed 3 cvs in 15klolwell then you had a different issue as when lowered that much the driveshafts sit almost perfectly straight

only way you will rub the arches is if you've got completely the wrong offset wheels

Okay, that's cool - no problems there as I'm using SR wheels. Thanks guys.

Bear in mind a 5dr has round arches so won't appear as low as that.
which is why i said what i did. imho saloons and 5 drs need to be at least 80mm.
And change cvs every few 1000 mileslol

too many maccy d burnouts......
just **** maintenance tbh.
just **** maintenance tbh.
So how often do you pull apart and regrease your CV's? lol
i make sure they aint split every month. and i check em when i fit the shafts.
how on earth you manage to blow a cv on a standard nova is beyond me, one of mine has been dry for at least 3000 miles now and its still going strong
