View Full Version : Cheapest place to buy compomotives?

Im after some new wheels for the bimmer and quite fancy some 17" comp MOs in black.

I've had a quick look and cant seem to find them cheap enough. Theres a place that does them at £233 per wheel for the size i want but was hoping i could find a set cheaper than that. Comp.co.uk seems to have changed their site from years ago and doesnt state the prices anymore.

Any help guys :thumb:

PS. Black, white or silver alloys on my car? Wanting a more of a hardcore look and think white may look a bit tacky and silver not as exciting.

It's not really the sort of wheel bimmer people use. Just thought asking here would be my best bet seen as though vauxhall boys buy them more.

Did a search on google and the first person that came up on the search was chris astley lol

I had just found them then, look quite nice. The offset is et20 and E36s use et35 though i think. That will mean theyl stick out too far wouldnt it, and not the other way round?

they will stick out further but may/should squeeze under the arches

Im sure they used to do prices online. I dont want to be ringing them up and realising that i dont have enough money just yet Lol. Would rather get a price, get my money and then ring up and order.

You obviously havnt seen the clearance i have on my arches lol Saying that though, the arches are REALLY chunky and could be shaved down loads but id rather pay the extra for wheels that fit tbh.

Il ring them up now mike. Just trying to find out the exact sizes of the m3 rims and then i can ask for wider rears.

PS. Think black will be nice on my car?

The plan is to basically smoke out all the front lights, got some rear coilovers coming this week, get the comps in black with white stickers and sometime during the summer im wanting a full black cage. It hasnt been out for months and want it different for the summer.

Just rang comp up, seems a friendly enough guy which always helps. For the sizes that i want in satin black came to £960 or something but said i can have them delivered for £824.

Guessing that'l be my cheapest option lol

May i ask why you cant find one Lol? There is literally hundreds of examples for sale. My black one will be sadly not for sale, but i did have my convertible for sale (looks basically the same with the same spec). Im thinking of keeping it a while though and hoping to drop it some more this week when i fit the coilovers.

Any ideas on wheels and links are appreciated. Im after buying some wheels this week, or if they are a bit over my price range il wait for a few weeks until i get paid. Saw some RH toplines on PH for sale but the 10" dish at the rear isnt going to be possible lol :(

Not really my thing and wanting to stick with 17s as i dont want to mess with the height of the front end.

I just had a quick look on potn and i didnt realise rota rims where so cheap

L33 LEG

For the offset i can just use spacers cant i? Not really sure about them, i want something a bit crazy tbh Lol.

Wouldnt mind buying rota grids for the front in 7.5" and then rota grid drifts for the back. It should have a really big dish look then cos the fronts wonts be dished. not sure if that will look ok or not? And then i need to find a place who sells the rims seperate.

im all out buddy i cant seem to find anything that isent cheap tack or euro

L33 LEG
05-05-10, 03:06 PM
We have found the wheels, just not the right size Lol. Im pretty sure though if i stick to a 225 tyre at the front it should fit under the arch. Im not really clued up with stretch tyres, a bit too scene for me lol, but im pretty sure itl fit.

stevie-p
05-05-10, 03:07 PM
a 225 tyre on what sizr of rim? 8.5''

L33 LEG
05-05-10, 03:11 PM
Ye. The wheels i have now are 8.5" at the back with a 235 (used to fit 245s on) and the fronts are 7.5" with 225.

stevie-p
05-05-10, 03:14 PM
all sizes and stretch are here so you cans ee if its any help

http://www.tyrestretch.com/index.php

L33 LEG
05-05-10, 03:17 PM
They dont have my sizes so im guessing that it isnt even classed as stretch Lol. Alos just noticed the offset is 30mm for the grids so surely that will catch on the rear arch anyway.

Doesnt look like they're going to fit :(

stevie-p
05-05-10, 03:18 PM
unless you import them there must be some floating around somewhere thats the only whel in that style too :(

L33 LEG

Driftworks can sell me the 18" grid drifts which will fit my car and the bm forum agrees. They dont sell the 17s for me thought. Price is £796 delivered which isnt so bad but being 18s im going to have to buy some new tyres aswell :(

So money aside, will these look ok? They do a black with red lip, bronze or grey ones. quite fancy the black ones as itl give it that stealth look im after. It should look pretty mean and certainly something different as thats what i want but worrired i wont like the front end of the car with it being that little bit higher.

Would you opt for these or the comps in 17s? Im liking the drifts as they have that massive dish effect to them and the comps will be the newer ****ter style they do. To help the stealth look the whole front end is basically getting smoked with yellow bulb lenses and fogs. Might also colour code the mouldings and as said, eventually a cage will be going inside.
