hi
i have a 1.2 spi end but i only have a 4 speed gearbox.can i get a 5speed gearbox for a 1.2 engine.if yes what would i gain by buy this item.

there are 2 5 speed boxes around

one - which was normally fitted to your 1.2i - has the same 4 gears u have plus an extra 5th gear so its a bit more economic

two - which was normally fitted to SR's - has the same range as yours but spread over 5 gears - this means that being in 5th in this box is the same as being in 4th in yours - and should give a bit better accelleration

1.4 SR had both boxes with them being mixed

most of the later ones had the CR box

the SRi uses the wide ratio versoin of the GTE box

but the SRi/GTE box (F13) is different from the 1.0-1.4 box (F10)
