Hi-I did a search but couldn't find an answer-I've fitted bike carbs to a 1.4se engine that originally had coil pack ignition,I've fitted a distributor and got the engine running-however I want to set the timing properly with a strobe light and I don't know where to look on the crank pulley for a mark. The timing cover has a mark on it but the pulley only has notches for the crank pos sensor.Anyone got any info on how to do this or should I just change the pulley for an ordinary distributor engine?? Thanks

Hi-There's a mark on the timing cover but I can't see an obvious mark on the crank pulley-the type you'd put tippex on before using a timing light. It just has notches for the sensor to read. Thanks

There could be-It might be easiest just putting a distributor type pulley on.Thanks

could you not just find tdc on number 1 and mark the pulley with tippex.

Does it not need to be timed before tdc-10deg?? I'd normally just line up the marks on the pulley and case.

remove the cambelt cover, the notch is on the side of the pulley closest the block, then you will also see the pointer :)
