Considering no LSD just an f20 box both stripped rear with cages, my mate has a LET and im buyin L1nuxx's V6 and were taking them to a RWYB on 18th May hes thinking he'll spank me but im not 100% convinced all will prevail though just wondering what you lot think?

Is the let standard?
Is the V6 standard?

If yes to both, id put my £2.50 on the LET.

A v6 with a cheeky set of 3.0 cams in, upped fuel pressure etc will be a very close call!

more weight on the front is good for a strip run, less spin off the line?

I had a mk1 astra with the V6 running an F20 and i don't think it was as quick as a let but it was more fun than an xe, the noise is by far the best part of the v6 though

i'm going with the v6, i just ran a 13.2 gas turned off, no diff and a standard engine set up with our wideband and AFP reg

your best option is to get a coosie 2wd adjustable regulator but then you would ideally need a wideband lambda reader.....although you could just set it around 3.6 bar and it should see you somewhere near

i think it depends if you mean standard let or a little alterations? a totaly standard let will see mid 13's without a diff @ around 106 -109 mph were as the v6 will see about the same time but slower top end 103 - 107 mph but the v6 will get a better 60ft time!

The V6 has 3.0 inlet cams, chipped ecu and an f20 box on a XE flywheel. There isnt much spin in the dry and you can learn to control the torque steer. :thumb:

david dixon

in that case the v6 takes it every time for me!

i agree with dave the v6. it may be more weight but that could help stop the fr wheels spinning as dave knows

Nah the V6 Pulls and pulls and pulls and pulls right up until you get scared and slow down there is no drop in acceleration at all. It weird driving one. Once it goes it just keeps on going. No lag or flat spots at all and the power is always there. My mate has an astra gsi supposidly 250bhp and the Nova pulls stronger.

Only experience I have with a v6 was my vectra gsi, and as for pulling all the way, and power always on tap I couldn't agree more. Even in that heavy bus of a vectra, still pulled strong..can only imagine in a nova. :)

Its strange the feeling. I will never have another XE as I prefer the delivery of the V6 power. I very rarley have to give it more than quarter throttle to get up to speed as its very responsive.

that's the torque, it's sooooo much better than bhp, modern wrc rally cars are supposedly limited to 300 bhp but ARE faster and produce MORE torque than the group B rally cars that were banned! That's why wrc are going s2000 in a few years :(

the s2000 cars are going to be 1.6 turbo mate not 2ltr on bodies stil **** though and id say the let will win

Std 2.5 vs std LET, the V6 will have it to about 40-60, the LET would obliterate it down the qtr though.

^ that in mind, I'd say close but if the LET is F20 as well, then my money would still be on the turbo.

a LET has a shedload more torque than a V6 (LET 207ft·lb, 2.5V6 166ft·lb, 3.0V6 199ft·lb), its just the V6 has a smoother power and torque curve.

they are 2 litre NA engines with approx 280bhp and similar torque, very quick!!

Sadly neither will finish (dnf) the 1/4 mile as the V6 will have the gearbox blow up and the LET will have clutch failure lol

I jest lol TBH it's all down to the first one who can keep traction so I'd say the V6 would be the winner, also depends who's driving them I suppose.
