Just put new discs on, but when mounting the caliper to the carrier i've noticed that the bolt/screw (thing) Is able to slide through the rubber hole it goes into on the caliper ( this is the bolt that is covered by a dust cap when fitted). So when the caliper is on there is still a bit of play in it. Is this meant to be like this because i haven't put fluid in yet? Or have i been a careless cnut and lost a washer or something? :wtf:
If you mean the sliders then yes they are meant to move through the rubbers

so when i fill it with fluid it should take up the slack? just thought it was strange and i don't really wanna make a balls of the brakes for obvious reasons! cheers mate.

the actual caliper body shouldnt move  take it off, check everything and try fitting it again. Don't drive it until it is sorted!!
are you on the old delco calipers (2 roll pins to hold the pads in place)?? if so, then the sliders get worn out & are replaceable very cheaply.
