With much regret I will be selling my Vectra Challenge car shell.
The shell is currently stripped bare ready for the bodyshop. However a change of plans and a new once in a lifetime project that has come my way forces the sale.
This is a works built shell, not a home DIY job.
This shell is a 99 car, no 004 of that year. It has a full weld in cage, double triangulated and forward triangulation to the top mounts. The shell is also fully seam welded. As you would expect from a works car, the standard is excellent. Only around 30 were ever built, and it is thought that less than half now survive.
The condition is still very good, although could do with a bit of cosmetic tidying to make really mint, in particular on the rear quarter. The front NS corner has seen some welding, and the rear OS corner has seen a battle or two in the past. But remember that this is a race shell and has been used accordingly, there is nothing that won't smarten up. The doors and bonnet are good.
As an added bonus, the car comes with full carbon fibre driver protection around the door bars, and proper carbon fibre door panels. These must have been fabricated at great cost. The car also has polycarbonate side glass for added weight saving.
Fantastic basis for a project, whether it be fast road car, track day car, spare shell for existing touring car owners, or full on race car. A good V6 or 2.0 Vectra donor car can now be picked up for hundreds. All of the pick up points for the subframes and the suspension are the same as standard.
Unsure of price, so we will say £1000 for forum rules. However I will be prepared to listen to offers.
I will also be selling the component Challenge parts (some very exotic) to go with this car in due course.
Also my 8kmiler mint A reg 1.2 Nova will be going too... PM me for details.
