when trying to move off when the cars been standing for a while the back axle(i think) locks and i have to give it loads of gas until the back end lifts up, with wheels spinning and then theres a clunk noise and it drops down and is fine again.wot the fuck is it and how can i solve it?
cheers
chris
that will be your rear brake shoes sticking to the drum causing it to lock.
replace the shoes and you should be fine, also give it a good clean with the brake cleaner :)
and it happens to a lot of Novas nothin to get worried about

u'll find its prolly easier to drive forward when it does that to free em off, or reverse a bit and then go forwards should help free it off quicker

happened on my old car all the time
never had it on this nova
apply more gas ;)
mine did this ages ago - ended up dragging the car for about 20 mtrs with wheels fully locked!
replaced rear brake cables and it sorted itself out. prob find the mechanisms locked - needs greesing (just dont greese shoes!)

mine does this when it damp and the car has been sitting for a day or two, just reverse a little and it frees them up.
