Unless you were totaly Nova mad you wouldn't buy that for 7K. There are other cars out there!

But if you add up what you have spent on your own car to make it nearly as good as that you will find it is probably a little more than that. I've spent ?8000 in the 2 years I have owned mine and spending another ?1000 on a 2.0 16v turbo lump at weekend so in all honesty I wish i'd bought that in the first place and saved myself some money.

You say that now, but at the end of the day you have had all the satisfaction of seeing the car change over the years into wha tyou want it to be.

True, but you never get back what you have put into a car expessially when it is a few years old. It is still a nova and even if you spent ?20K on it no-one would pay that for a car that was last sold new at least 10 years ago.

yeah but, do you modify a car to make it sell for more or do you modify it cos of your love for modified cars???

I know when I had my GSi I was modding it cos I wanted it to look a certain way, I knew the money I spent wouldn't be made back when it came to selling it.

I dont think it would matter what car you modify, generally it costs alot more to modify a car than to go out and buy a ready modified one, but if you buy one ready done, you can't say to people "I did this" or "I designed this part" etc.

Whe i start to modify a car i think to myself am i going to keep this car? Cos if not then Dont bother! Once you have gone too far and spend lots of money then there is no turning back cos you cant sell it for what you have put in.
